After a year of construction, FedEx Office’s new headquarters in Plano is nearing completion. More than 1,200 employees are expected to take occupancy of the 265,000-square-foot campus in August or September.
Ari Spitzer, FedEx office vice president of real estate and development, said the new campus will consolidate the company’s employees, now located in two different local facilities, into one, which will increase efficiency and collaboration. He also mentioned the consolidation will result in cost reductions.
Amenities at the new headquarters include a fitness center, basketball and volleyball courts, private dining room for events or corporate lunches, and a cafeteria. The building will also house a mock store, where Spitzer said the company can test new technologies and processes before putting them into use in the real world, and a learning center, where training of store managers will take place.
